LOCK is a BDSM organization founded in December 2020. It was started to fill a void in the Upstate NY area. LOCK provides a place for like-minded individuals to come together and be themselves. Its focus is on power exchange and community building.
A core value of this group is personal responsibility. BDSM MUST be practiced by competent, consenting, educated adults. Personal responsibility isn’t just a talking point; it’s our practice.

LOCK (Lifestyle Opportunity for Community Kink) is a kink organization in the Albany, NY area where locals into lifestyle power exchange and BDSM can come together to find community and education. LOCK was started in 2020 to address a local need for post-Covid community and education that offers skill-building to new and experienced kinksters alike. We do this through regular in-person events, as well as a thriving online community space on Discord.
We hold several regular events each month, including classes taught by internationally renowned educators. We throw regular play parties in our 1800 sq ft, fully-stocked dungeon. We also hold a range of community-building and educational events such as socials, movie nights, rope shares, and barbeques.

LOCK’s identity is built around personal interaction, learning, discussion, and growth. Regular participation is an important part of creating a tight-knit community and we do our best to create an environment that encourages attendees to return over and over.
LOCK is not a swingers group. It is not a place to come and find a sex partner. We provide a place for people to find more, beyond the kinky sex.
LOCK is an inclusive group that welcomes those interested in lifestyle kink regardless of identity, gender, sexuality, race, etc. All members must be respectful of others; we have no space for derogatory comments about people’s identities or existence.

In our group, all people are responsible for exhibiting adult behavior. Part of that is taking responsibility for your own actions and choices. People on BOTH sides of the slash are considered responsible for obtaining informed consent, respecting the boundaries of that consent, and speaking up for themselves if uncomfortable.
LOCK takes consent very seriously. We hold regular classes on consent and negotiation, and we are proud to be a Coalition Partner of NCSF, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. NCSF’s mission is to create a political, legal and social environment in the US that advances equal rights for consenting adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions.
